Mother’s Day Flowers

I thought a nice Mother’s Day gift would be to grow some flowers from seeds. I went to the store in early April to get some flower seeds but it was going to take longer then a month to grow flowers so I decided on growing chives instead. At least they could eat them when the kids brought it home. There were many steps to making this perfect Mother’s Day gift from the kids.

First, I had them paint the pots.

Then we planted the seeds in soil in egg cartons and watered them everyday. The kids were so excited to see that they were growing everyday.

The week of Mother’s Day we transplanted them into their pots that they painted and decorated them with stickers and made a foam flower to add to the pot. They were so proud to give them to their moms.
