Recycling Broken Crayons

I had a lot of broken crayons over the past few months…sometimes the young ones like to throw them on the ground when they are done using them 🙂

I showed the kids how we recycle them to use them again for colouring. LR helped to take the paper wrappers off and we broke them into smaller pieces. I preheated the oven to 300F and sprayed mini muffin tins with oil spray. The kids filled the trays with the broken crayons. Some even tried to keep similar colours together.

Once they melted (after about 10 mins) I took them out and let them cool. We popped them out and voila…new funky crayons.
